WEATHER NOTICE: If storms are actively moving through Oologah on Saturday morning, we will delay the start until after the danger has passed. Dress appropriately for some muddy areas.
5th annual Oologah Lake Kids Fishing Derby Day
Saturday, June 1
Registration 8:30 am
Fishing and safety booths 9 – 11 am
Lunch and awards 11 am – noon

The kids will hook some fun at the annual Kids Fishing Derby Day at Oologah Lake.
The event promotes water safety and outdoor family activites. The children received free life jackets, prizes and lunch, thanks to donors who support the event.
Activities include fishing for prizes, safety booths, free life jackets, Northwest fire trucks, fishing pros, Air Evac helicopter, snake display and more.
Each child will recieve a goodie bag, free worms, use of our fishing gear for those who need it and free water. Free lunch is also provided for the kids and their families.
Children who need a life jacket will receive a free new life jacket. If you have one your child has outgrown, bring it to donate for the loaner boards at the Corps beach.

The chance of catching a fish and winning a prize lured over 200 children and their families to the fourth annual Kids Fishing Derby at Oologah Lake.
“It was the funnest day of my whole life,” one youngster told the Leader.
“Thank you all do much our kids had so much fun! I don’t know which was my daughter’s favorite: the helicopter taking off, the fire truck spraying them with water, the snakes, or meeting new friends, or pulling in her turtle!” wrote Cindy Rowley-Morrison.
