Independence Day is one of the biggest and most important holidays of the year. Somewhere between 50,000 and 60,000 Rogers County residentswill gather at Oologah Lake on Friday, July 4 to enjoy and help us celebrate our Independence Day with a spectacular free Fireworks Show.
The Oologah Chamber and Redbud Marina need your help.
While we have had a good response for donations, we are behind in our goal for this year. With the higher cost of fireworks and new ATF regulations on transporting explosives, our costs have increased. I fact, the costs have almost doubled for us to have the same quality of show as years past.
If we don’t get some larger donations or a lot of smaller donations, we may have to really cut back our show. This year it will cost us almost $10,000.00 to put on the same size 45 min. show.
For insurance purposes the show is put on by Redbud Marina. My son Michael and I are both licensed by ATF and trained in pyrotechnic. We setup and shoot the show with the help of 10 trained volunteer staff. The fireworks are purchased at Import Wholesale Cost, Redbud Marina donates labor and equipment for all site preparation and furnishes a $2,000,000 Insurance policy.
This is a community effort and we have always received a lot of help from a lot of people and businesses around Rogers County and marina customers.
Please help by sending a donation or call me, I’ll come pick it up.
Let’s keep our show one of the VERY BEST.

The Fireworks Show is free. It will be shot across from Hawthorn Park on the south end of the lake at 9:30 p.m. Friday, July 4.
God bless America.
