The Lady Mustangs took third at the Oologah Showcase soccer tournament last week.
“I was very pleased with the performance during the tournament. I’m very excited for the rest of the season,” Oologah head coach Kyndall Chronister said.
The Lady Mustangs knocked off Bristow 3-0 Thursday to open the tournament.
Oologah went on a scoring frenzy midway through the first half. The Lady Mustangs scored three goals in less than two minutes.
Juniors Skye Koening and Madi Brooks scored the first two goals and freshman Krystal Holley hit the back of the net with 7:48 left in the half.
The Oologah defense only allowed one shot on goal. The Lady Mustangs got the 3-0 win over Bristow and advanced to the winner’s bracket.
Oologah went down 2-0 to a tough, talented Glenpool team. The Lady Warriors are ranked #4 in 4A.
Glenpool took the lead with a goal in the first half. The Lady Mustangs slowed down the high powered Glenpool offense that had scored seven goals in the previous game.
The Lady Warriors scored another goal late in the second half and Oologah fell 2-0.
“Glenpool is a very good team. Our girls played one of the best games that I’ve seen them play defensively,” coach Chronister said. “Even though we didn’t get the outcome that we wanted I was very pleased with our performance.”
The Lady Mustangs wrapped up the tourney with a 4-0 win over Rejoice Friday.
“In our game against Glenpool we spent most of our time defending. We were able to attack more against Rejoice,” Chronister said.
Junior Addy Pitchard scored a goal on an amazing header off a corner kick. Brooks, Holley and Sarah Pavey scored goals for Oologah and the Lady Mustangs got the shutout win.
