Two Mustang wrestlers made it out of regionals last weekend and qualified for state.

Freshmen Brock Martin took second at 170 pounds at the Bristow regional. Junior Cole Martin took third at 195 pounds.

Head coach Chad Weeks said Bryson Long also battled hard at regionals, but his sixth place finish wasn’t high enough to make state.

Brock Martin won his first round match against Poteau 17-1 and he defeated his opponent from Locust Grove 5-2 in the quarterfinals.

It took overtime for Brock Martin to beat a Stillwell wrestler 4-2 in the semi-finals. In the championship match, Brock Martin lost to Zach Peterson from Ft. Gibson in a 4-1 decision. Brock Martin has a 25-8 record this season.

Cole Martin was on the mat at regionals for the first time since he broke his ankle in December. Cole Martin has a 12-3 record.

Cole Martin received a bye in the first round. He beat his opponent from Catoosa with a pin in the quarterfinals.

Cole Martin lost his semi-final match 12-3 to a Cascia Hall wrestler. He won his consolation finals match against Daniel Rowel from Cushing with a pin at 1:51.

The Oologah wrestlers will compete at the state tournament this weekend at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds.
