Oologah stunned Catoosa 24-21 Friday night.
The unranked Mustangs’  win over the #5 Indians came down to an onside kick with one minute left. Oologah recovered the ball and the huge district win clinched a home playoff game next week.
Quarterback Payton Craig spurred the offense and the Mustang defense held Catoosa to 78 yards rushing.
The teams traded touchdowns on their opening possessions. Craig carried the load on Oologah’s next scoring drive and he found the end zone on a nice 15 yard run.
Trent Harris recovered a Catoosa fumble to set up the Mustangs’ next score. Chance Keim had a 33 yard run and Craig scored to put Oologah up 21-7 at half.
Catoosa scored after a long pass play to start the third. Mark Franklin kicked what turned out to be the game winning 25 yard field goal to start the fourth.
Catoosa completed a touchdown pass with 1:03 left. The onside kick failed and the Mustangs got the 24-21 win.
