If you ask Oologah senior Chance Fletcher what he did over summer break, he’ll tell you everything he could possibly cram into it.
Fletcher participated in the Youth Leadership Oklahoma program, took a trip to the nation’s capitol and attended a three week business program atDartmouthUniversity.
“It was a lot of late nights and it was exhausting but it was worth it,” Fletcher said.
Fletcher was one of 52 students selected to participate in Youth Leadership Oklahoma. The program’s mission is to find the brightest incoming high school seniors and encourage them to keep their talents and skills inOklahoma.
Alumni from the program meet with the students at different businesses and organizations. The program helps students develop a greater understanding and appreciation for their home state.
“It was great,” Fletcher said. “I was impressed with the high achieving youth in this state and I was enlightened aboutOklahoma’s economic and business cultural.”
