Oologah swept Inola last Thursday to win a district baseball title for the fourth year in a row.
The Mustangs shutout the Longhorns in the first two games of the best out of three series. Oologah is ranked #9 with a 26-9 record.
“Obviously it’s good anytime you can win districts and advance to regionals. Inola’s a good team. I think having a tough district matchup will help us going into regionals,” Oologah head coach Kerry Hallman said.
The Mustangs will face Dewey Thursday at 1 p.m. in the regional at Metro Christian. Dewey is ranked #13 with a 23-5 record. The regional is double elimination.
“I’ve heard they have a right handed pitcher that throws in the upper 80′s but we’ve faced everybody’s number one pitcher all season long so we should be ready,” coach Hallman said.
