Mat Shockley defeated incumbent Jan Miller for a spot on the Oologah Town Board in Tuesday’s municipal election.
Miller said she will not contest the outcome.
Shockley received 59 votes or 59.6 percent to Miller’s tally of 40 votes (40.4 percent). He will serve a four-year term representing Ward 4.
“I want to thank all the voters who came out in the cold and rain and supported me and I’m looking forward to joining the town council,” Shockley said.
Miller had questioned Shockley’s eligibility to run, contending he lived outside the boundaries of the town.
