A judge’s order has permanently shut down a gun range south of Oologah.
An injunction from Rogers County District Judge Dynda Post filed March 13 closed Green Country Safe Shooters permanently. Post’s order cites zoning problems, personal safety and noise issues.
Attorney Robert Price represented 28 plaintiffs that filed suit against Byron Dykes, owner of Green Safe Shooters and Marshall Luton, who leased property at the gun range to operate the Defensive Shooting Academy of Tulsa.
The plaintiffs are residents who live near the gun range on Road 408. Price said his clients were relieved the case has been settled.
“They were pretty pleased it was over and they’re pretty happy,” Price said.
