Missy Barron is Citizen of the Year

Missy Barron fights back tears after being named Citizen of the Year by the Oologah Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber honored Barron at the annual banquet on Saturday night. “This is crazy, crazy! Thank you very much,” Barron told Ashley Schondel, incoming president. Barron was honored for her work to establish the Oologah Parents and Teachers organization and her volunteer efforts with the Oologah senior citizens. Missy and her husband, attorney Zach Barron, have three sons who attend Oologah Lower and Upper Elementary Schools. She also works part time and has her own pie-baking business. Even though the Barron family had a large contingent at the banquet, she said she wasn’t suspicious. “I thought we were all here to support Willie,” she laughed. Her brother-in-law, Willie Barron, was sworn in as Chamber vice-president.
