Zach Barron thrashed Debbie Wallis by a 3-1 margin Tuesday for an open seat on the Oologah-Talala School Board.
Barron received 369 votes or 75.4 percent to Wallis’s 120 votes or 24.5 percent with all nine precincts reporting.
Turnout was extremely light on a cloudy, cold, wet Election Day.
“I want to thank the voters for giving me the opportunity to serve our school and I look forward to working with the other board members and administration in making Oologah Schools the best it can be,” Barron said.
Barron will serve the remaining 2-1/2 years of Drue Wagoner’s term. Wagoner resigned from the board last year.
Barron is an attorney with offices inTulsa, Nowata and Oologah.
He and his wife Missy Barron have three sons attending Oologah.
