Town Board members on Tuesday approved buying five tables for $940 each.

The picnic tables are concrete and will be covered with a graffiti proof coating. They will replace five old picnic tables that have been in the park for over 20 years, according to Mayor Jerry Holland.

“We’ve upgraded the gazebo and a lot of people use the park so we want them to have some nice tables to use as well,”Hollandsaid.

The board continued to discuss how to slow down speeding vehicles onBoundary Street, which is in trustee Darrell Mitchell’s ward.

Mitchell is considering new stop signs at Boundary and Cooweescoowee.

“I’m contemplating a three way stop if the traffic doesn’t slow down especially when the trains are coming through,” Mitchell said.
