Oologah Lake Leader publishers Faith L. Wylie and John M. Wylie II will be inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame, along with eight other outstanding journalists this spring.
They will be honored during the 42nd annual induction ceremony of Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame Thursday, April 26 at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
“The Wylies represent the best of quality journalism in Oklahoma. Their dedication to community and publishing has earned them the respect of their colleagues throughout Oklahoma,” said Dr. Terry M. Clark, director of the Hall of Fame.
Others to be honored are Jim Ellis, sports editor of the Miami News-Record; Christy Gaylord Everest, former CEO of Opubco and The Oklahoman; Gerald C. Green, editor of the Clinton Daily News; Neal Kennedy, Tulsa radio newsman; William “Bill” Morgan, late publisher of The Weleetkan and the Hughes County Times; Stan Stamper, publisher of the Hugo Daily News; Oklahoma City native Anthony Shadid, late correspondent for The New York Times; and James Watts, Jr., of the Tulsa World.
