The Mustangs hosted their contest on Saturday Sept. 23rd and the kids did a great job. The students provide most of the labor during our contest.
They worked all day filling water jugs, picking up trash, leading bands, working warm-up areas, running security in the stands..
After that they didn’t get a break and they changed into uniform and performed their show.
The next weekend they competed at the Pryor band day and earned 4th place in prelims both band and guard, and placed 9th overall in finals.
After that they competed at Verdigris and really showcased some massive improvement from the Saturday before, earning a Superior rating.
This past weekend they competed in Glenpool earning 3rd overall and securing 2 outstanding drum majors and outstanding drum line.
Director Jon Mathews stated, “Our band kids have really showed a lot of grit this week. I am so proud of how hard they have worked this season so far.”
The Stallion Battalion will compete on Tuesday, October 17th at the OSSAA regional marching contest and we can’t wait to get the chance to see how they continue to improve.
