“Our state test results will be coming back soon and they will reflect the new way our students are tested,” said Oologah-Talala School Superintendent Max Tanner.  “We were told to take the old test results and throw them out since they will no longer be compared to the new test results.”  Tanner explained some of the changes that have taken place and warned the School Board during their meeting Monday evening that there would be some growing pains during the next few years and this year’s test results will reflect some of those pains in some lower scores.  “It will not only be a school/student effort but will also need to involve the community to get to where we need to be,” Tanner said.

Tanner played a video that explained how Oklahoma was falling behind in preparing its student for the future, either college bound or career bound.  With this in mind, the state is setting higher standards for students, so this year is a total reset to have Oklahoma students reach National Standards.
